British man critically injured by motorcycle in Thailand
A British restaurant owner, Ricky Eury, is fighting for his life after being hit by a motorcycle in Thailand. The 39-year-old was struck by Sergei Medvedev's high-powered motorbike while crossing the road in Phuket on Saturday. Ricky suffered severe head injuries and multiple fractures. Ricky's family rushed to Thailand after learning he might not survive. They were shocked to find out that the cost of his medical treatment is around £10,000 a day. This is because doctors cannot confirm his insurance details as he has been unconscious. His parents and girlfriend are devastated. Ricky's mother, Annette, shared that he has started to regain consciousness but still has a short memory. His father, George, was heartbroken when he learned of the accident. He booked a flight to Thailand right away, fearing he might not see his son alive. Ricky had been in Thailand since February for Thai boxing training. He had just eaten lunch after a gym session when he was hit. Hospital doctors are cautiously optimistic about his recovery but stress that it will take time. The family plans to stay in Thailand as long as needed for his recovery.
