British man missing in Sardinia for 250 days
A British man named Michael Frison has been missing in Italy for the last 250 days. He was last seen on July 13, 2024, during a family holiday in Sardinia. Michael, who is 25 years old, was originally scheduled to return to the UK but decided to extend his stay with a woman he met online named Niomi Orlandini. Michael's mother, Cristina Pittalis, expressed her deep frustration with local police for what she believes are their failures in the investigation. After Michael's disappearance, Niomi, the last person with him, stopped communicating, leading to increased suspicion from Cristina. Niomi is said to have suggested that Michael stayed longer in Sardinia to keep her company. The day before he vanished, Michael and Niomi went to work on a farm where they stayed in a tent. Cristina said Michael texted her to say he was going to sleep but did not return the next day. Niomi later claimed he went for a walk and didn't come back, but Cristina criticized their response, saying they did not immediately raise the alarm. Cristina, who has faced challenges since her husband died years ago, has dedicated herself to finding Michael. Her search includes reaching out to authorities, although she feels let down by both Italian and British police. She believes important evidence may have been missed and has serious doubts about the accounts given by Niomi and the landowner. Despite the emotional toll, Cristina remains determined to find her son. A GoFundMe page set up by a friend has raised over £8,000 to support search efforts. She describes Michael as a kind person who always helps others and continues to hold on to hope for his safe return.
