Broker arrested for selling overpriced dialysis equipment

A broker was arrested at Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) on Saturday. He was trying to sell dialysis equipment to a patient at very high prices. Dr. Rituraj Thakuria, the deputy superintendent, caught the broker during a secret operation on the third floor of the medicine department. The arrested man, identified as Yadum Tanti, was found with central venous line equipment and visiting cards from pharmacies and diagnostic centers. After the arrest, hospital officials reported the incident to the police. Superintendent Dr. Chakraborty filed a formal complaint at the Ghungoor police outpost. Dr. Gupta, the principal of the hospital, stated that they are committed to stopping brokerage activities to protect patients from being exploited.
