Browns and Steelers expected to draft quarterbacks
The NFL draft is coming up in a little over a month, and excitement is building around potential trades and picks. Recently, a mock draft from Pro Football Network suggested that the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers might trade up to select quarterbacks. Several teams, including the Browns, Steelers, Tennessee Titans, and New York Giants, are looking for help at the quarterback position. The Titans are expected to take Cam Ward first overall, while the Giants are projected to select Shedeur Sanders third overall. This leaves the Browns and Steelers with fewer options. In the mock draft, the Browns trade up from the 33rd pick to 29th, making a deal with the Washington Commanders to pick Jaxon Dart from Ole Miss. The Steelers later trade up to 44th overall with the Dallas Cowboys to select Jalen Milroe from Alabama. While Ward and Sanders are seen as immediate starters, Dart and Milroe may need time to develop as backups. The Browns currently have Kenny Pickett as a potential starter while Dart learns, and the Steelers have Mason Rudolph while Milroe grows. There are questions about the Browns' strategy, as they could have picked a better QB with an earlier pick. Instead, they took edge rusher Abdul Carter second overall. This choice could pay off if Carter becomes a standout player, but if Sanders excels, the Browns might regret not taking him. As free agency winds down, the NFL draft appears to be the best chance for teams needing a quarterback. The upcoming weeks will reveal more rumors and updates about this year's quarterback class.
