BSF and Punjab Police foil Indo-Pak smuggling attempt

The Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police stopped a smuggling attempt at the Indo-Pak border in Gurdaspur. They found a black bag containing heroin, arms, and ammunition, which featured the image of Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi. The bag contained 1.07 kg of suspected heroin, two pistols, and ammunition. Authorities are investigating the significance of Afridi's image on the bag, questioning whether it was meant to mislead security forces. Earlier, BSF apprehended a Pakistani intruder near Amritsar. He was unaware of the border's location and had no incriminating items. The BSF later returned him to Pakistan Rangers after a flag meeting.
