BSNL launches IFTV service with 354 channels in Kerala
BSNL has launched its Intranet Fiber-based Live TV (IFTV) service in Kannur, Kerala. This new service is in partnership with Skypro, a well-known IPTV provider in India. The IFTV service is available to BSNL's Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) customers. It offers over 354 live TV channels, including 23 channels in Malayalam. Customers can also enjoy high-speed internet and phone services. The 'Skypro' app, available on the Play Store, allows users to stream content without needing a set-top box. This launch is part of BSNL's efforts to expand its digital services nationwide. The company had previously introduced IFTV in states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab. In Punjab, BSNL worked with Skypro for the implementation of the service. BSNL Bharat Fiber users can access IFTV at no extra charge. The service also supports HD streaming on smart TVs and older models with a Fire Stick. Additionally, BSNL is expanding its 4G and 5G services, planning to install 100,000 new mobile towers across India. So far, over 60,000 towers are in operation. In Kerala, BSNL serves around 10 million customers. The company has set up 24 new mobile towers in Kannur and 31 in Kasaragod. They are also renovating three additional towers. BSNL aims to connect 3,000 telephone customers with fiber services before the monsoon season, further strengthening Kerala’s digital infrastructure.
