BSP reorganizes Uttar Pradesh panels to include diverse leaders

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is making changes to strengthen its organization in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. BSP chief Mayawati is reviving Bhaichara Committees in every district. These committees aim to boost the party's presence at the grassroots level. In these updates, a significant number of posts have been allocated to leaders from Dalit, OBC, and Muslim communities within various district and city committees. The BSP has introduced roles such as advisor in both district and city committees to enhance oversight and provide feedback to leaders. A meeting of BSP leaders is scheduled for March 25, where party officials will discuss these changes. Recently appointed district presidents include Shailendra Gautam in Lucknow and Rajesh Kumar Fauji in Rae Bareli. Key positions in the Lucknow city committee have also seen new appointees, including Shan Jamshed Khan as president. Mayawati has instructed party leaders to focus on strengthening the organization and to report their progress at the upcoming meeting. The BSP is also working to restructure committees at various levels, including sectors and booths, while aiming to involve younger leaders in their membership drive. Additionally, the party is launching a campaign called Gaon Chalo Abhiyan in all districts to connect with local communities.
