Buccaneers re-sign cornerback Bryce Hall for defense improvement
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made some important moves during NFL free agency this month. They re-signed wide receiver Chris Godwin and veteran linebacker Lavonte David. The team also added pass rusher Haason Reddick to strengthen their defense. In 2024, the Buccaneers won the NFC South for the fourth consecutive year. However, their defense needs improvement. They ranked 16th in points allowed and 18th in total yards allowed last season. Additionally, their secondary struggled at times. On Tuesday, the Buccaneers re-signed cornerback Bryce Hall to a one-year deal. Hall originally joined the team as a free agent last year but suffered an injury in the season opener against Washington, which ended his season. While Hall may not be a star player, the Buccaneers expect him to be a valuable contributor. He played his first four seasons with the New York Jets and had a promising performance in 2021, with 16 passes defended and 79 total tackles. After last year's injuries, the team is hopeful he will remain healthy for the upcoming season in 2025.
