Buck and Maddie discuss emotions in latest episode
In the latest episode of "9-1-1," titled "Holy Mother of God," the Buckley siblings, Buck and Maddie, had a significant conversation about Buck's feelings following Eddie's move to Texas. Fans have long hoped for a relationship between Buck and Eddie since Buck came out last season. During the episode, Buck struggles to find new friends now that Eddie is gone. He invites his friend Ravi out but ends up spending time with his ex-boyfriend, Tommy. Tommy suggests rekindling their relationship but also brings up Buck's feelings for Eddie, which Buck denies. This prompts a deeper conversation between Buck and Maddie about his feelings, with Maddie suggesting that it wouldn't be surprising if he cared for Eddie. Interestingly, some parts of this conversation were deleted. Showrunner Tim Minear expressed regret for cutting a specific exchange. In the original scene, Maddie would have reminded Buck about living in Abby’s house for months after she left him. This context would have added depth to Buck's reluctance to settle into Eddie's place. Minear noted that he felt the audience would have understood the significance of that moment even though he was advised against including it. He emphasized that such details could have enriched the storyline. As the season continues, more discussions about Buck’s feelings for Eddie are expected. Maddie, who knows her brother well, could be the first to hear Buck’s true feelings if he ever decides to share them. New episodes of "9-1-1" air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
