Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle to support Earth Hour
King Charles III's office has announced that Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, and Windsor Castle will turn off their lights for Earth Hour tonight, March 22. This event will start at 8:30 PM and last for one hour. The royal family shared this news on their social media accounts shortly after King Charles and Queen Camilla returned from a trip to Northern Ireland. The announcement states the lights will be switched off in support of the WWF UK's Earth Hour initiative. This campaign aims to raise awareness about environmental issues. The royal family encouraged everyone to "join us for 60 minutes and give an hour for Earth." In addition to royal landmarks, several famous sites in London, like the London Eye and the Tate Museums, will also go dark to support this initiative. Earth Hour is organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and takes place in many countries. During this hour, people are encouraged to turn off non-essential lights and appliances to show their commitment to the environment.
