Buffalo's Shea's Theatre announces exciting Broadway season

Shea's Buffalo Theatre has announced an exciting lineup for its 2025-26 Broadway Season. This year marks the theater's 100th anniversary, and it will feature five new musicals and the return of the popular show "Wicked." The season kicks off with "The Outsiders" from September 17-23. This musical is based on the classic novel by S.E. Hinton and was also adapted into a film. Following this, "The Notebook," a romantic musical based on Nicholas Sparks' bestseller, will run from October 6-13. "Wicked" will come back to Shea's from November 12-30, having been performed here multiple times since 2008. Other highlights include Cirque du Soleil's holiday show "'Twas the Night Before ..." from December 17 to January 4, and the award-winning musical "Kimberly Akimbo" from March 17-22. The season will also feature "Water for Elephants" in April 2026, and "Suffs," which focuses on the suffragette movement, will run in June 2026. The theater has been a vital part of the Buffalo community, generating significant economic benefits. It attracts tourists and boosts local businesses.
