Bulldozer demolishes property of jailed drug peddler
Police in Ludhiana have demolished a property linked to a jailed drug peddler named Munish Tandon. The demolition took place in the Payal sub-division on Wednesday. Tandon is in jail due to a case registered on March 4. He has been involved in drug trafficking since 2017 and faces trial in several cases. Authorities claim that the property was built illegally. Tandon’s family, however, argues that it is an ancestral property and that Tandon had no role in its construction. They also stated that they disowned him when he engaged in illegal activities. Before the demolition, the municipal council issued a notice regarding the illegal construction. A bulldozer was used to bring down the building. Khanna's senior superintendent of police, Jyoti Yadav, mentioned that Tandon is facing multiple charges, including four cases in Payal, and others in Ludhiana and Doraha. This action is part of a broader effort against drug-related activities in the area. Following recent demolitions, several individuals have promised to stop participating in drug trade.
