Burglars steal valuables from hotelier's home near Katpadi

Burglars stole valuables from a house near Katpadi on Saturday. The break-in occurred at the home of S. Raja, a 62-year-old hotelier from Mettukulam village. Raja and his family were away in Chennai for wedding shopping. When they returned, they discovered that their house had been broken into. The thieves took 50 sovereigns of gold jewelry, silver items, and ₹2 lakh in cash. The family's CCTV cameras were found damaged, and the hard disks were missing. Raja alerted the Katpadi police, who arrived to investigate. They collected fingerprints and reviewed footage from nearby cameras. Special police teams have been set up to catch the burglars.
