Bus driver, conductor filmed injecting heroin in Kullu
A disturbing video has gone viral from Himachal Pradesh, showing a bus driver and conductor injecting heroin. This incident occurred in the Kullu district and has sparked widespread outrage and concern for public safety. The two men, aged 24 and 27, are from Khokhan and Shamsi in Bhuntar. After the video circulated on social media, local police quickly summoned them for questioning and collected medical samples from both for testing. In response, police and local authorities warned private bus operators that strict action will be taken against anyone found using drugs while on duty. Residents are calling for stricter rules, including regular medical checks for bus staff and a ban on drug users in public transportation. This incident highlights a growing drug problem in the region. In the last two and a half months, at least 13 youths have died from drug abuse in various areas of the state, including Shimla, Solan, and Bilaspur. The situation is particularly severe in Mandi’s Balh area, known for illegal drug activity. During a recent budget session in the state Assembly, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu noted that 60 government employees had been implicated in drug trafficking. Authorities have also seized properties belonging to at least 20 individuals involved in drug smuggling.
