BYD launches Denza N9 SUV to compete in luxury EVs
BYD has launched a new SUV called the Denza N9, which aims to compete with luxury brands like Mercedes and BMW. This is BYD's most expensive model under its Denza brand. The N9 is priced between 389,800 to 449,800 yuan, or about US$60,860. The Denza N9 is available in both plug-in hybrid and pure-battery versions. It can seat six people and includes advanced autonomous driving technology. The vehicle can also support drone systems. BYD's chairman, Wang Chuanfu, expressed hopes to show the world that China can make high-quality cars and succeed in the luxury market. The N9 represents BYD's goal to expand its range of premium electric vehicles and attract more customers. Last year, BYD sold approximately 3.84 million electric and plug-in hybrid cars. This achievement gives the company about a 20% share of the global electric vehicle market, making them a leader in this segment.
