C. Thomas Howell plays Anders, a supportive cowboy

In Season 2 of 1923, C. Thomas Howell portrays a character named Anders. He is a lead cowboy who provides sanctuary to Teonna and Runs His Horse. In exchange for shelter, they agree to help him with some work on his land. Anders first appears in Episode 3. When Runs His Horse approaches him about staying on his property, he agrees. They make a deal to help push cattle the next morning. The group shares a meal together after a long day. However, their time together is cut short when Teonna spots her wanted poster. They decide to flee north to avoid capture. In Episode 5, Anders reappears when Marshal Kent and Father Renaud come looking for information about Teonna. A cowboy working for Anders tells Kent that he saw Teonna with them, but Anders denies it to protect her. However, he changes his mind after learning Teonna has committed murder. He then shows the authorities where they last saw the group. C. Thomas Howell is well-known for his roles in several popular films from the 1980s, including E.T., The Outsiders, and Red Dawn. He has appeared in numerous movies and TV shows over the years. His recent work includes a role in the 2024 biopic about Ronald Reagan.
