Cadbury loses royal warrant for first time in 170 years following review by King Charles III
Cadbury has lost its royal warrant to supply chocolates, a first in 170 years. This decision follows King Charles III's review of the list of warrant holders, which now includes 386 companies. Cadbury was awarded the warrant in 1854 by Queen Victoria. The royal warrant is a mark of quality, allowing companies to display royal arms on their products. Cadbury is among 100 firms, including Unilever, that did not receive a new warrant. Bacardi and Nestle retained theirs. The campaign group B4Ukraine had urged the king to remove companies still operating in Russia after its invasion of Ukraine. Cadbury's parent company, Mondelez International, was specifically mentioned in this context.
