He is working with a company called Emergency Preparedness in Calabasas (EPIC) to assess how to harden his home against fires. Isrow believes that safety is a community concern, and everyone needs to do their part. The hardening process includes checking important areas like the roof, windows, and landscaping. Brian Cameron from EPIC stresses the importance of education and community involvement in fire prevention. He suggests starting with the roof and the vents and then clearing overgrown vegetation nearby. Isrow’s home has a good rating, but there is still work ahead. Small improvements can make a big difference. As the fire danger continues to grow, Cal Fire is expected to update fire hazard maps for Southern California. More areas, including parts of Calabasas, may be marked as high risk.
