Calgary rally protests Israel's airstrikes on Gaza
Dozens of protesters rallied in front of Calgary city hall on Tuesday. They gathered to speak out against Israel's recent airstrikes on the Gaza strip. The airstrikes have caused many deaths and injuries, with reports indicating that hundreds of people are affected. The protesters carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans like "Israel is a terrorist state." They called for an end to the war in Gaza and criticized both the U.S. and Canada for not doing enough to address the conflict. One protester, Beth Keeler, expressed her belief in basic human rights. She said that more support from Canada for Palestine could have prevented the violence. Israel stated that the airstrikes targeted Hamas locations. However, the health ministry in Gaza claims that many victims are civilians. These airstrikes are some of the most intense since a ceasefire was established in January. There are growing concerns that this could lead to a full-scale war again. Israel and the U.S. have put the blame on Hamas, accusing them of not releasing hostages taken during the conflict.
