California has hired former Washington State and Hawai'i coach Nick Rolovich as a senior offensive assistant. This announcement was made on Friday, following the recent appointment of Bryan Harsin as the team's offensive coordinator. Rolovich last coached in 2021 but was fired after seven games for refusing to comply with a COVID-19 vaccination mandate. He previously coached at Hawai'i from 2015 to 2019 and had a brief tenure at Washington State. Rolovich, who grew up near Berkeley, has a history of coaching success, including being named Mountain West Coach of the Year in 2019. He is currently involved in a wrongful termination lawsuit against Washington State.
