California officials have identified Lewis Randolph “Randy” Williamson as the suspect in the 1979 murder of 17-year-old Esther Gonzalez. Her body was found in snow near a highway after she was raped and bludgeoned to death. Williamson, who died in 2014, had previously passed a polygraph test and reported finding Gonzalez's body. Forensic technology recently linked his DNA to evidence from the case, which had remained unsolved for over 45 years.
