Cam Skattebo shines in Peach Bowl but trails Ashton Jeanty on draft boards

Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo has gained attention after a strong finish to the season. In a double-overtime Peach Bowl loss to Texas, he recorded 242 scrimmage yards and was named MVP, becoming the first to win that honor on a losing team in 26 years. Skattebo's performance in his last four games outshone Boise State's Ashton Jeanty, who struggled in the CFP quarterfinals. Skattebo achieved 794 scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns during that stretch, while Jeanty had 46 fewer scrimmage yards and nine fewer touchdowns. Despite his recent success, Skattebo is still ranked lower than Jeanty on draft boards. He is currently listed as the eighth-best running back for the 2025 NFL Draft, while Jeanty is ranked first. Skattebo will have another opportunity to improve his draft stock at the NFL Combine in February.
