Camarines Sur placed under Signal No. 5 as Super Typhoon Pepito approaches

Camarines Sur's northeastern area is now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 5 due to Super Typhoon Pepito, which poses a serious threat to the northeastern Bicol Region. The weather bureau warns of potentially life-threatening conditions. As of Saturday afternoon, Pepito was located 120 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, moving west-northwest at 20 kilometers per hour. It has maximum winds of 195 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 240 kilometers per hour. The typhoon is expected to make landfall in Catanduanes later today or early Sunday. Other areas are also under various wind signals, indicating different levels of threat to life and property.
