Campbell awaits audit details from DiZoglio in Massachusetts

Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell responded strongly to State Auditor Diana DiZoglio's claims that she is not enforcing a law that allows for auditing the state legislature. This law was approved by 72% of voters in November. In an interview, Campbell said she is waiting for DiZoglio to provide detailed information needed to move forward. She emphasized that without this information, her office cannot effectively take legal action. Campbell stated, "She's saying publicly she's giving us that information, she has not.” DiZoglio, in response, accused Campbell of trying to shift blame and said that Campbell has the authority to file a lawsuit on her own. Earlier this week, DiZoglio claimed she had already provided the information needed for Campbell to act. However, Campbell insisted that simply citing voter support is not enough. She stated, "We cannot go into court saying 72% voted in favor of it... We need to ensure we have a solid legal basis." The tension continues as both officials seek clarity and resolution on this matter.
