Canada blocks U.S. ammunition sale to Israel amid conflict

Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly announced the suspension of 30 arms sales permits to Israel and will block a U.S. contract for Quebec-made ammunition intended for the Israeli Defence Forces. This decision follows criticism of Israel's actions in the ongoing conflict with Hamas, which has resulted in approximately 41,000 Palestinian deaths since October 7, 2023.
