Canada-wide warrant issued for Fort Providence murder suspect
Police in Canada have issued a nationwide warrant for a man accused of murder in Fort Providence, Northwest Territories. The man, Krystian Cogswell, is 22 years old and has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and two counts of aggravated assault. The charges arise from a shooting that occurred last weekend. During the incident, one man, 31 years old, was killed, and two others were injured. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to the scene early Saturday morning. They believe the shooting is related to the drug trade. According to police, Cogswell is from Surrey, British Columbia, and remains at large. He is considered armed and dangerous. One of the injured individuals received treatment at a local health center, while the other was flown to Yellowknife for emergency care. RCMP stated that Cogswell likely fled Fort Providence shortly after the shooting. They are actively searching for him. Additionally, he is wanted on a separate warrant for drug trafficking from last year. At that time, he was on bail, which prohibited him from entering the Northwest Territories.
