Canada's spring weather brings mixed conditions nationwide
Spring officially starts in Canada on Thursday at 5:01 a.m. EDT. Many Canadians are eager for warmer, brighter days after a long winter. However, the first weekend of spring may not offer the relief they hope for. In British Columbia, the weather will be mixed. The coast can expect some rain and even thunder, while the alpine areas might see snow. The province is facing multiple storms, beginning on Thursday and continuing through the weekend. The Prairies will experience a wide range of temperatures. Alberta will enjoy highs in the single digits, while Saskatchewan and Manitoba will remain much colder, near freezing. Scattered flurries and mixed precipitation are expected in southern areas on Saturday. In Ontario, northern regions will see better conditions after a winter storm, but temperatures will still feel winter-like. Southern Ontario will start mild on Saturday, but a cold front will bring showers and possible flurries later in the day. Highs will occur early, followed by a drop in temperature. Quebec’s weekend will also start pleasantly but will become colder by late Saturday. A strong cold front will bring rain and snow showers. Temperatures will struggle to rise above freezing on Sunday. The East Coast will be affected by a Colorado low and another system from the U.S. This will lead to unsettled weather through Saturday. Sunday may show slight improvement, but it will still feel chilly, not spring-like. More updates are available from The Weather Network.
