Canucks sign goaltender Aku Koskenvuo to entry-level contract
The Vancouver Canucks have signed goaltender Aku Koskenvuo to a two-year, entry-level contract. General Manager Patrik Allvin announced the agreement today. Koskenvuo, 22, just finished his third season at Harvard University. He achieved a record of 8 wins, 9 losses, and 1 overtime loss. He had a goals-against average of 2.81 and a save percentage of .902 in 20 games, marking a personal best in wins with eight. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 173 pounds, Koskenvuo has played in a total of 39 NCAA games. His career record at Harvard is 14 wins, 16 losses, and 5 overtime losses, including three shutouts. Originally from Espoo, Finland, Koskenvuo has represented his country in several international tournaments. Notably, he was recognized as one of Finland’s Top 3 Players at the 2021 U18 World Championships and participated in the 2023 World Junior Hockey Championships. Koskenvuo was drafted by the Canucks in the fifth round, 137th overall, during the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
