Cape Fear Seafood Company, a popular seafood restaurant based in Wilmington, is expanding its operations. Since 2019, the restaurant has opened four new locations and plans to add more in the coming years. Currently, there are seven locations, with additional ones expected to open this year and next. The first new location in the North Myrtle Beach area opened in September at 1386 U.S. 17 North. Founder Evans Trawick noted that the market there has been promising and they are considering more locations in the Myrtle Beach area. In 2023, Cape Fear Seafood announced a site in Southport. However, Trawick mentioned there have been some challenges with the development at Shoppes at Dutchman Village. They are redesigning the restaurant to have a smaller footprint and hope to start construction soon. The Southport location is expected to open in early 2026. Additionally, the company revealed plans for a new restaurant in Surf City across from the Salty Turtle Beer Company. This site is currently under development and is slated to open in October. There are also plans to open locations in Cary and Greenville later this year.
