Car crashes into autorickshaw on Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, killing driver
A serious accident occurred on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway on Friday. An autorickshaw was hit by a car while it was stopped to drop off a passenger. The collision resulted in the death of the autorickshaw driver and injuries to three passengers. The crash happened near the Narsinghpur cut. Witnesses reported that the car, a Maruti Ertiga, was traveling at about 80 kilometers per hour when it struck the stopped autorickshaw. The impact was so severe that the autorickshaw overturned. Rakesh Ranjan, the autorickshaw driver, died at the scene before reaching the hospital. The three passengers suffered injuries, with two of them, Nisha Singh and another unidentified individual, in critical condition. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the car fled the scene but left the vehicle behind. Police are currently working to locate him. An FIR has been filed under several charges, including rash driving and causing death by negligence. This incident has raised concerns about traffic safety on the expressway. Many commuters are calling for better enforcement of rules, particularly regarding autorickshaws and motorbikes, as these vehicles are not allowed due to the high speeds of traffic. Traffic data shows that more than 400 people die in road accidents annually in the city, with a significant number occurring on this expressway.
