Carina's parents impose strict rules during Homestays
Carina and Paul were looking forward to a week of connecting during Homestays on "Married At First Sight." However, Paul was surprised by the strict rules set by Carina's parents when he arrived at their home in Perth. Carina explained that while her parents are welcoming, they are very protective. Paul soon found out that he would have to sleep in a separate room from Carina, as her family follows strict Catholic beliefs. Carina's mother, Carmel, expressed that their relationship needs to be treated with care because they are married only in the eyes of the state, not the Church. Although Paul accepted the separate sleeping arrangements, he was taken aback by the many religious symbols in the house. Carina found the situation amusing and suggested that her mother was sending Paul an important message. Viewers can catch more of Paul's experiences during Homestays on the show, which airs on Channel 9 and 9Now.
