"Cat Island" located in Omi province, Japan

In the game Assassin's Creed Shadows, players can find numerous cats scattered throughout various locations, reminiscent of Japan's real-life cat sanctuaries. Among these, there is a special place referred to as “Cat Island,” officially named Okishima. Okishima is situated in Lake Biwa, which is on the east side of the game’s map in the Omi province. It is the largest of the small islands in the lake. To reach this island, players can start their journey from the Otsu kakurega at the southern end of Lake Biwa and take a boat to the location. Once on the island, players should explore the village in the center, where many cats and kittens can be found. There are several spots where cats gather, providing a perfect opportunity for players to enjoy the feline ambiance and take pictures. Players have noted the possibility of a side quest that might naturally lead them to Okishima, though this hasn't been confirmed by everyone yet. Before leaving, it’s a good idea to activate the synchronization point on the island for easier access in the future. On Cat Island, players can add different cats to their collection at their Hideout. The cats found there include Calico Bobtails, Calico Kittens, and Tabby Bobtails. This adds a fun element to the game as players can create a lively environment at home with their new furry friends.
