CBI arrests forest guard in Kathua for bribery

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a forest guard in Kathua district for accepting a bribe. The arrest follows allegations that he demanded ₹35,000 for facilitating a contract work. This work included the construction and repair of a road and the release of keys for a JCB machine. The incident was reported on March 20, when the CBI registered a case against the forest guard. Officials noted that he had taken the keys of the JCB by force. To catch him, the CBI set up a trap. On the day of his arrest, he was caught red-handed while receiving the bribe from the complainant. Following his arrest, the forest guard was presented in court. He has been placed in judicial custody for 14 days as the investigations continue.
