CBI investigates Noida Sports City project corruption cases
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has opened three cases related to alleged corruption in the development of Sports City projects in Noida. This follows orders from the Allahabad High Court to investigate a suspected conspiracy among officials and builders from 2011 to 2014. The potential financial loss to the State could reach nearly ₹9,000 crore. In the first case, Logix Infra Developers Private Limited and its directors, along with unnamed Noida Authority officials, are being investigated. This case is about a contract awarded in May 2011 for a Sports City project in Sector 150 of Noida. The second case involves Lotus Green Constructions Private Limited and its directors. It also relates to the development of a Sports City in the same sector. The third case concerns Xanadu Estates Private Limited and its directors, along with additional unnamed officials, focusing on another Sports City project in Sectors 78-79. The High Court highlighted that various conditions of the projects were repeatedly ignored, suggesting collusion between the builders and Noida Authority officials. The court criticized the lack of action taken by the Authority and the State government against those involved, despite earlier warnings about the alleged fraudulent activities.
