India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched 'Bharatpol', an online platform for better communication between state, Union Territory police, and central agencies. This system aims to streamline requests for Interpol notices regarding fugitives and criminal investigations. Previously, requests were sent via emails and other methods, which caused delays and confusion. The new platform is designed to reduce processing time and improve tracking of cases. It is currently in trial mode and may be officially launched on January 7. Since 2021, the CBI has successfully coordinated the return of 100 wanted criminals through Interpol, including 26 in 2024. The new system is expected to enhance the efficiency of these operations.
