CD Projekt Red has confirmed that The Witcher 4 is now in full-scale production. The game will have its own story and is not influenced by the Netflix series, despite the show's popularity bringing in new fans. Game director Sebastian Kalemba stated that while there is some synergy between different media, the game’s narrative is independent. Executive producer Małgorzata Mitrega emphasized that the storytelling is rooted in the original Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski. The studio aims to create the most immersive and ambitious open-world experience in The Witcher series. They are focused on their own vision for the game, rather than drawing from other adaptations.
