Apple and UC Santa Barbara release open-source image editing AI

Apple and UC Santa Barbara researchers released MGIE, an open-source multimodal AI model for image editing based on text commands. Apple is reportedly working on an in-house ChatGPT-like chatbot and plans major AI announcements. MGIE uses MLLMs to understand natural language commands and image training data, producing successful image edits. The model is available on GitHub and Hugging Face.
