Cebu City wins Cong. Duke Frasco Cup title
Cebu City won the Cong. Duke Frasco Cup title after a close game against Liloan Tornadoes. They edged out Liloan with a score of 72-69 at the Panphil B. Frasco Memorial Sports Complex on March 22. The match was exciting, with both teams showing determination until the end. Cebu City, led by Vice Mayor Donaldo "Dondon" Hontiveros, started strong and had a lead of 15 points at one point. Jaybie Mantilla was the standout player for Cebu City, scoring 16 points and earning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. Other key players included Jeff Gudes with 10 points and RJ Dinolan who added nine points. Liloan fought back, with Joseph Cabahug scoring the highest points in the game at 20. His teammates, Lawrence and Froilan Mangubat, also contributed significantly. Liloan made a strong push in the final quarter, reducing Cebu City's lead to just one point. In the game's final moments, Cebu City maintained a slight lead. Dinolan's layup secured their victory, preventing Liloan from tying the game. Cebu City took home a cash prize of P200,000, while Liloan received P100,000. Both teams had players recognized in the tournament's Mythical Five, highlighting their strong performances.
