Cedarburg Boys Basketball returns to state after eight years
Cedarburg High School is celebrating as its Boys Basketball team returns to the State Tournament for the first time since 2017. On Thursday, students and teachers cheered in the halls to support their team. Seniors Logan Zahour and Griffin French recall watching the Bulldogs' last game in the title match, where a last-second shot from half-court missed. French hopes for a different outcome this time, saying, "Hopefully, we can go back and win it this time." Under head coach Nick Miller, the Bulldogs have had a strong season with a record of 20 wins and 8 losses. They started slowly but went on a remarkable run, winning 17 of their last 20 games. This includes a significant playoff victory against Notre Dame, winning 86-69. Cedarburg, ranked fourth, is set to play against top-seeded Racine Park in the Division 2 semifinals. The game is scheduled for Friday at 1:35 p.m. Fans are excited to see how far the team can go in the tournament.
