Celtics list four starters injured before Blazers game
The Boston Celtics could face a tough challenge in their game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. They may be missing many of their key players, as four of their five starters are on the injury report. Jaylen Brown has already been ruled out due to a knee injury. Three other starters, Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, and Kristaps Porzingis, are listed as questionable, meaning they may not play. Brown is dealing with a knee problem, while Tatum has knee tendinopathy, Holiday has a shoulder issue, and Porzingis is recovering from an illness. Additionally, reserve player Xavier Tillman will also be out again because of a knee sprain. The Celtics are on a road trip and this game is the first of back-to-back games, with a challenging match against Sacramento on Monday. Given this schedule, the team may choose to rest some players strategically. Porzingis and fellow big man Al Horford have not played in back-to-back games all season. Holiday has also missed some of these matches to manage his health after returning from an injury. The Celtics hope to sweep the season series against the Blazers after previously defeating them at home. Portland will also be missing two key players, DeAndre Ayton and Jerami Grant. Former Celtic Robert Williams is out as well after knee surgery. The game will start at 6 p.m. on Sunday as part of the Celtics' six-game road trip.
