Cement mixer fire in Shanti Nagar causes panic

Nagpur: A quiet morning in Shanti Nagar Colony turned chaotic when a man set fire to an old cement mixer near parked cars. Adil Danish discovered the fire after being alerted by a neighbor. He had just finished his morning prayers when he saw the flames close to his vehicle. Panic spread among residents, especially in light of recent riots in the city. Danish moved his car to safety as others gathered with buckets of water to help put out the blaze. Fortunately, his car did not catch fire, though it was very hot to the touch. A neighbor reported the incident to the police. By the time officers arrived, the fire was already under control. Police spoke with locals to find out who may have started the fire, but no witnesses had seen the arsonist. CCTV footage showed a man passing by the area multiple times at 4:27 AM. While the video did not capture the moment the fire started, the man's strange behavior raised suspicion. Senior police inspector Vikrant Sagane said they would investigate further but did not link the fire to the recent riots. Sagane also mentioned a gap in the wall nearby, often used by people crossing the railway line. Police had been patrolling the area until 4 AM, just before the fire was set. With new evidence from the CCTV, the investigation into the incident will continue.
