Censure debate may spark legal complaints, political shifts
The Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) believes the upcoming censure debate against Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra could trigger significant political and legal changes. This statement comes from PPRP secretary-general Paiboon Nititawan. The debate will focus on various legal issues, according to Paiboon. He mentioned topics like the possession of an Alpine golf course, properties in Pathum Thani, and the influence from outsiders on the prime minister and political parties. He also referenced the potential legalization of casinos. Paiboon said that the outcomes of the censure debate could lead to petitions to the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Constitutional Court. He suggested that these petitions might result in political changes involving the prime minister. The Election Commission (EC) is currently investigating potential outside influences over the prime minister and political parties. Paiboon noted that the censure debate would contribute to this investigation. He commented that if the EC decides to act following the debate, it could make for an interesting development. During the debate, PPRP leader Gen Prawit Wongsuwon plans to speak for about ten minutes, providing an overview of the party's position. Other PPRP MPs will offer further details during the discussion. Paiboon also indicated that there are reasons to consider dissolving the house at this time.
