Central Bucks rally protests federal education funding cuts
Teachers and parents in the Central Bucks School District will rally on March 19 against federal education cuts. The demonstration is part of a national event organized by the National Education Association. The federal Department of Education is facing significant staff reductions, losing nearly half its workforce since the Trump administration began. The Office of Civil Rights, which handles discrimination complaints, will lose at least 240 employees. Local educators are concerned that these cuts will impact the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, which relies on federal funding for specialized services. The district currently has 85 open special education positions.
