Cessna offers three CitationJet models
Cessna is currently offering three models in the CitationJet series: the M2, the CJ3, and the CJ4. The CitationJet series began over 50 years ago when Cessna entered the business jet market. The first Citation was popular with various users, including private owners and corporations. The CitationJet, introduced in 1993, aimed to improve on its predecessor, focusing on cost-effectiveness and performance. The CitationJet M2 is the latest model, serving as a successor to the CJ1. It features upgraded engines for better performance and a modern cockpit design. Recent updates, like the M2 Gen2 and M2 Gen3, have enhanced its interior and technology, adding features like advanced lighting and safety systems. The CJ3, launched in 2004, is larger and can carry more passengers. It also incorporates advanced technology found in newer models. Cessna markets this model as the CJ3 Gen3, with improved safety features and a customizable interior. The CJ4, introduced in 2010, is the largest and fastest of the CitationJets. It has a different wing design and offers greater range and capacity. The current model, CJ4 Gen3, includes upgraded avionics and customization options for the cabin, enhancing passenger comfort. Cessna has produced numerous variants of the CitationJet over the decades. While the M2, CJ3, and CJ4 are the latest offerings, earlier models like the CJ1, CJ2, and CJ2+ have paved the way for these advancements. Cessna continues to lead the market in light jets, demonstrating innovation and flexibility in its designs.
