Chandigarh physiotherapist appointed for Khelo India Para Games

Dr. Guranchal Pawar, a physiotherapist from Chandigarh, has been appointed as a medical classifier for para shooters at the Khelo India Para Games. This event began on Friday in New Delhi and will last for eight days. At 33 years old, Dr. Pawar is one of two medical classifiers assigned specifically to the shooting team. Her role is essential, as medical classification determines each para-athlete's eligibility for their sport. The Khelo India Para Games will feature over 1,300 para-athletes competing in six sports, including para athletics, para archery, para powerlifting, para-badminton, para table tennis, and para shooting. The games will take place at three venues: Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, IG Stadium, and Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, concluding on March 27. Dr. Pawar has experience in the field, having served as a physiotherapist at various national and international shooting competitions. After the Khelo India event, she will participate in the 37th ISAS International Shooting Competition in Germany in 2025.
