Chargers cut linebacker Joey Bosa after nine seasons

Bosa had a cap hit of $36.47 million for 2025, allowing the Chargers to save $25.36 million. He was the last player from the team’s San Diego era and had signed a lucrative extension in 2020. In the past season, Bosa played 14 games, recording five sacks, his lowest in six years. He struggled with injuries, missing significant time in 2022 and the final seven games of 2023.
