Chargers release linebacker Joey Bosa after nine seasons
The Los Angeles Chargers have released linebacker Joey Bosa, ending his time with the team. Bosa was set to receive a $12.36 million roster bonus on March 12, prompting the decision. Bosa, the third overall pick in the 2016 draft, played 14 games last season, starting nine and recording five sacks. He has a total of 72 career sacks but has faced injuries throughout his nine seasons. Khalil Mack, another veteran pass rusher, may also leave the Chargers as he is set to become a free agent next week.
