Chargers sign Andre James to compete with Bozeman
The Los Angeles Chargers are shaking things up in their offensive line. Last week, they re-signed center Bradley Bozeman but many fans were not happy about it. They thought Bozeman did not perform well last season, and felt the team should look for alternatives. In a recent move, the Chargers signed former Las Vegas Raiders center Andre James. This adds pressure on Bozeman, as James is expected to compete for the starting center position in training camp. James, who played college football at UCLA, brings six years of NFL experience. He has played in 89 games and made 60 starts. Bozeman is 30 years old and started every game for the Chargers last season. James is younger at 27 and has also been a consistent starter in the league. The Chargers have a strong lineup with key players like Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt at tackle, and new addition Mekhi Becton. The center position was a question mark, but now there is healthy competition. This move could benefit the Chargers. By bringing in James, they hope to either motivate Bozeman to improve or find a new starting center altogether. This can help strengthen their offensive line as they aim for a successful season in 2025.
