Charleston hosts architecture, art, and skateboarding events
This weekend in Charleston offers a variety of exciting events for families and visitors to enjoy. From art shows to food festivals and a skateboard benefit, there’s something for everyone. The fourth annual Charleston Show takes place from March 21-23 at Festival Hall. This event features around 30 international exhibitors showcasing a range of antiques and period furniture. The show will open to the public on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $20. On Saturday, March 22, Mount Pleasant will host Art Fest at the Town Centre from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will showcase local artists, live music, and interactive activities for kids. Entry is free for all visitors. Food lovers can head to the Spring Food Truck Feastival at Firefly Distillery on March 22, from noon to 4 p.m. Local food trucks will offer a variety of dishes, along with live music starting at 1 p.m. Entry to this event is also free. Skateboard fans should not miss the Bridge Spot Skate Benefit on March 22, running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event features professional skateboarder Bam Margera and a competition for local skaters. Entry to the skate event is free, while competition registration is $20. Proceeds will support suicide prevention charities. Finally, on Sunday, March 23, the Latin Taste of Charleston will be celebrated at Exchange Park from 2 to 8 p.m. This event features authentic Latin American food, crafts, and music, with general admission priced at $10.
