Charleston hosts diverse arts events in April 2025
Charleston has a lot of exciting arts events coming up in April. Here are three highlights recommended by local arts and culture staff. First, the Flowertown Festival will happen from April 4 to 6. This festival is held in downtown Summerville and is the largest arts and crafts event in the Southeast. Visitors can explore various handmade crafts, enjoy live entertainment, and try delicious food from food trucks. The festival also includes rides and games for families. It has been a community fundraiser for the Summerville YMCA since its start in 1973. Next, TEDxCharleston will take place on April 23 at 12:30 p.m. in the Charleston Music Hall. This year, the event will feature 13 speakers discussing topics like health and technology. In addition to thought-provoking talks, audience members can enjoy performances from local artists. The theme this year is “Thrive,” focusing on overcoming challenges in today's world. Lastly, the Charleston Jazz Festival will present a concert on April 25 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Charleston Music Hall. The event will feature singer Jazzmeia Horn, a two-time Grammy nominee. She will perform alongside Tonya Nicole, who will pay tribute to legendary female artists like Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. This concert will highlight how music connects traditional and modern storytelling. These events promise to offer unique experiences for everyone in the community.
